Sharon Thieman’s Collections are composed of five manifestations of the Japanese Aesthetic.
As a Westerner it may be impossible to find total understanding of aesthetic concepts inherent to Japanese art and culture in the same way as native Japanese. Nonetheless, Sharon places high regard for the importance of preserving tradition.
She has made it a high priority to practice Temari as a Japanese cultural art in the light of her own comprehension, based on study and hands on experience.
She believes that adherence to the fundamental qualities that are found within the Japanese Aesthetic are imperative to the authentic value of her Artwork.
